My name is Monika.
I was born in Czechoslovakia and when I was 3, my family escaped the communist country with our sights set on America. The land of golden sidewalks and freedom!
As refugees you don't have a choice of where you go and thank goodness we landed in the green mountains! Growing up in Vermont was wonderful. I love Vermont and it will always be home.
But for now, I love living in Safety Harbor. It's a nice little town with a cobble-street downtown, maple trees (can you believe it?!) and only a 10 minute drive to 2 different beaches.
I am a Management Accountant for a small British company and I really enjoy my work and co-workers. I've been pretty lucky in my move to Florida. I've got a wonderful loving and supportive boyfriend who loves every meal I make, even when I think they are not great. Anthony is always pushing me to take cooking to another level, he's even mentioned a food truck! For now I think I'll stick to my humble blog...
We are also lucky to have an adorable-sweet-as-pie-smoosh-face-wiggle-butt boxer.
Sasha puts a smile on my face everyday. She was in line to being put down at the dog pound and thankfully the Florida Boxer Rescue snatched her up and gave me a call. I can't ever imagine anyone giving her up. She's my walking buddy, couch pal and sous chef!
On my free time I love photography, going to the beach and being with my mini-family. I also volunteer at the Humane Society. I love spending time with the "Pound Pups" as I call them. They love the attention and affection.
